Car Wash Relay
Car Wash Relay is a great summer activity to get everyone engaged. To complete this activity, we have used:
- Marker cones
- Water
- 2 x Clear Buckets
- Team Bibs
- 2 x Flexi Tubs
- 40 x Foam Balls
- Food colouring
How to set up the game
To set up the activity, sort the children in to two teams. Simply, set out the flexi tubs 3-5 metres away horizontally from each other. Then, place the clear buckets 5-10m directly in front of the flexi tubs. Simply, draw a horizontal fill line on to the bucket, depending on the difficulty of the challenge, draw the line as high or low as you like. Adding food colouring to the bottom of the buckets can make it easier to see where the water level is.
How to play
The aim of the game is to transport the water from the flexi tub to the clear bucket with the fill line. Soak the foam balls, in the water and take turns to grab one ball and run to the other bucket. Once you reach the clear bucket, squeeze as much water as you can into the bucket, run back and tag the next player. Work as a team to get the bucket full of water and reach the fill line as fast as you can. The team who reaches the fill line first, wins!
Remember, take care when playing water activities. Make sure all obstructions are out of the way and the ground is soft and resistant to slipping. We would recommend playing this game on a large field.
